CAIRO – 28 April 2017: Al-Azhar posted a brief historical video about the State of Vatican on its official Facebook page and Twitter account, just a few hours before the visit of Pope Francis to Cairo, Friday.

Al-Azhar elaborated in the video that the Vatican is a state in the heart of Rome, with 800 inhabitants living on 0.44 square kilometres. It is the only one listed as a world heritage site, which has been built for 100 years and includes Renaissance art crafts.

Pope Francis arrived in Cairo today for a two-day visit during which he will meet with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, Grand Azhar Imam, and Egypt’s Coptic Pope Tawadros II.

Thursday, the Ministry of Defense as well posted videos on YouTube about Pope Francis’s visit titled with (The Pope of Peace in the Egypt of Peace).
