RAMALLAH - 4 January 2018: The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned on Thursday the Israel Knesset's preliminary approval of a bill to execute Palestinian detainees.

The draft law is part of Israel's arbitrary actions against the Palestinian people and its violation of international law, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry held the Israeli government, under Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, responsible for repercussions of this dangerous move.

It called on the international community and the UN to press the Israeli government in order not to finally ratify this inhumane law.

Israel’s parliament gave preliminary approval on Wednesday for legislation that would make it easier for a court to impose a death sentence on Palestinians convicted of murder in attacks classified as acts of terrorism.
