CAIRO – 26 December 2017: The 44th meeting of the Arab League’s Economic and Social Council executive committee started on Tuesday at the level of high officials.

The three-day meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters and chaired by Jordan, is set to follow up progress in the establishment of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA), Assistant Arab League Secretary General Kamal Hassan Ali said on the sidelines of the meeting.

The meeting will also touch on issues related to liberalizing trade in services as well as the mechanisms for settling disputes among the GAFTA Arab member states, he added.
