CAIRO – 6 November 2017: Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces General Mohamed Farid Hegazi on Monday inspected units of Armed Forces and police deployed in North Sinai with the aim of uprooting terrorism.

The general took a tour of checkpoints installed on Sinai roads and main axes to check on the readiness of the elements of police and Armed Forces.

He expressed happiness over the determination and spirit of the soldiers to fight terrorists and avenge the death of martyrs.

General Hegazi extended the greetings and appreciation of General Commander of the Armed Forces Defense Minister Colonel General Sedki Sobhi.

Hegazi, meanwhile, hailed the ongoing cooperation and coordination between Armed Forces and police to track down terror elements.

The chief of staff stressed that Sinai residents are the forefront of defending Egypt's national security alongside police and Armed Forces.

Monday's tour was attended by the commander of the Second Field army as well as a galaxy of Armed Forces and police commanders.
