CAIRO - 21 October 2017: The Coptic Orthodox Church has sent a medical convoy to Ethiopia that comprises 14 spine surgeons, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

The medical team, headed by prominent Egyptian Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery Kamal Ibrahim, is part of efforts to boost ties between the Egyptian and Ethiopian people, the ministry said.

Egyptian Ambassador to Ethiopia Abu Bakr Hanafy has asserted the two countries have strong relations in the medical field.

Addressing a presser on the convoy’s visit, he said the Egyptian physicians are transferring knowledge to the Ethiopian medical teams through surgeries performed by Egyptian surgeons.
