CAIRO – 11 October 2017: Palestinian Hamas and Fatah factions will hold the second session of their national dialogue in Cairo on Wednesday, under the auspices of the Egyptian government, to realize the long awaited Palestinian national unity.

The statements said that steps were taken to enhance the national Palestinian dialogue, such as dissolving the administration running the Gaza Strip to be replaced by the Palestinian National Authority under the leadership of Rami Hamadallah.

The first session’s talks touched deeply several files linked to the Palestinian reconciliation, according to Hamas and Fatah’s statements, which pledged to resume discussions on Wednesday adorned by the same optimistic spirit.

Both factions expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Egyptian efforts in ending the 10-year dispute inside the Palestinian political theatre, according to statements issued by Hamas and Fatah on Tuesday.

For his part, Haniyeh expressed his gratitude to Egypt for its sponsorship; indicating his satisfaction with the atmosphere of national reconciliation, democracy, and political pluralism.
