KHARTOUM - 30 September 2017: Undersecretary of Sudan's Foreign Ministry Ambassador Abdul-Ghani Al-Naeem said on Saturday Egypt has supported his country during the current sessions of the UN Human Rights Council.

There is coordination and cooperation between the two countries' permanent missions in Geneva, Naeem told Sudan News Agency.

He stated that Egypt's envoy delivered a statement in the name of the Arab group in which he expressed support for Sudanese stances and pointed to remarkable progress of the human rights status in Sudan as well as to continuous cooperation of the Sudanese government with international officials in this regard.

He added that the Egyptian envoy said Sudan had not received the due technical support for years, despite the resolutions of the council on the matter.

The foreign ministers of Sudan and Egypt agreed during a meeting on the sideline of the UN General Assembly's 72nd session in New York this month to foster cooperation and coordination between the two countries over issues of common concern.
