CAIRO – 27 September 2017: Governor of Alexandria Mohamed Sultan said Tuesday in a telephone interview with TV presenter Amr Abdel Hamid that the governorate is well prepared for the rains.

“Simulation scenarios were used to test the efficiency of the available storm sewers, and we are ensuring the availability of the required equipment to absorb expected quantities of rain water. We are also arranging with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation to lower water level in canals,” Sultan added.

In winter 2015, a crisis occurred in Alexandria. Rainwater flooded roads due to the lack of maintenance in the street drainage system.
