Cairo – 23 September 2017:Two million Egyptian students return to school on Saturday and Sunday in 27 governorates.

Schools that don’t consider Saturday as a day off started today; Minister of Education Tarek Shawky said that there are committees from the ministry assigned to check the schools and make sure that they are ready to receive students and that there are no problems facing the educational process, Al Ahram newspaper reported.

According to the Information and Decision Support Center statistics of the year 2016/2017, the numbers of schools in the governmental sector are 45,279, while there are 7,385 in private sector, bringing the total amount to 52,664.

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced the numbers of the ministry’s operations office to receive all questions and complaints from students, parents and teachers concerning the start of a new semester for the academic year 2017/2018. Which are: 19151 – 027941089 – 027957628.

The office is headed by head of the Central Administration of Security General Amr Al Desouky, who will deliver citizens’ demands and inquiries to the office of the minister of education in order to take the suitable decisions and solutions.

The Ministry of Education has finished printing 99% of the study books for the first semester in all educational stages. The ministry will also announce officially the fees of governmental schools within days, and the decision will be sent to all schools, which will submit the books to students whether they paid the fees or not, spokesperson of the Ministry of Education Ahmed Khairy said on Friday.
