Iraqi PM announces start of operation to retake western Anbar

BAGHDAD, Sept 19 2017: Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi announced on Tuesday the start of a military operation to liberate west of al Anbar from the remains of Daesh terrorist group.

"Operations to liberate western Anbar began near Anah at dawn today. We will retake every last bit of Iraqi territory from the enemy," Abadi said on his official Twitter account.
