CAIRO – 13 September 2017: The Egyptian-Greek committee meetings started on Wednesday in Athena, and they are following up on labors interests in the two countries in the field of social solidarity.

The committee will discuss means of transferring social insurance subscriptions paid by Egyptian or Greek workers in the two countries in meetings spanning three days, Head of the office representing the Egyptian Manpower Ministry in Athena Ashraf Foad.

The agreements signed between Egypt and Greece in the field of social insurance entail that Egyptian workers in Greece should pay subscriptions to the Greek Manpower Ministry, while the Greek workers in Egypt should pay subscriptions to the Egyptian Manpower Ministry. These subscriptions would provide pensions for Egyptian and Greek workers in the future.

Earlier, Manpower Minister Mohammed Safaan directed a representative advisor of the Finance Ministry to participate in the meetings of the committee. The Social Solidarity Ministry delegation and its advisor, Manpower Ministry representative along with a number of other officials will partake in the meetings in Athena.
