CAIRO - 10 September 2017: The raid carried out by the Egyptian security forces on terrorists in Ard el-Lewa in Giza has resulted in the death of 10 suspected militants so far, while six policemen were injured, according to a security source.

On Sunday morning, Egyptian police forces raided two residential apartments in Ard el-Lewa area, one of the neighborhoods in Giza, which resulted in exchange of fire between the suspected terrorists and police forces.

Security sources revealed to Youm7, that the police forces were able to seize firearms and explosive materials inside the hideouts of the terrorists during the raid, stressing that the killed terrorists were members of Hasm movement and were preparing to conduct terrorist operations during the upcoming days.

Last February, an Egyptian court of urgent matters designated the militant group Hasm a terrorist organization, banning its activity in the country.

Hasm has claimed responsibility for a number of attacks against Egyptian security personnel in recent months, mostly targeting police checkpoints, but security forces have arrested and killed dozens of suspected Hasm members in the past few months.
