HNC: Political transition is best way to end war

GENEVA - 7 September 2017: The Syrian opposition is committed to political transition of power as the best way to end the war in Syria, Spokesman of the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) Monzer Makhous said in a statement to Al Arabiya news channel Thursday.

Makhous added that the Syrian opposition categorically refused to form a broad-based government as the Syrian regime suggested this solution before.

Meantime, UN peace talks mediator Staffan de Mistura said that Syria’s opposition must accept that they have lost the six-and-a-half year war against Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.
