CAIRO – 2 September 2017: A woman gave birth to quintuplets in the eighth month of her pregnancy in Asyut governorate, Upper Egypt.

Samah M. had to have an emergency caesarean after she fainted; she gave birth to two males and three females. All quintuplets are in incubators.

“An emergency caesarean was performed on the mother after she fainted… and the children are in good condition,” said Moem Kamel, a gynecologist at Asyut hospital.

The 27-year-old father said that this is his wife’s second pregnancy and he had twins with her, asking the governor for help as the expenses for treatment and incubators are unaffordable.
