CAIRO – 23 Aug 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Wednesday with a high-ranking delegation from the U.S. headed by Jared Kushner, U.S presidential advisor and son-in-law U.S. President Donald Trump. They met to discuss how to enhance and support the peace operations and resume negotiations between Palestine and Israel.

During the meeting, Shoukry expressed his appreciation of U.S. efforts to achieve peace between Palestine and Israel, and they reviewed Egypt’s assessment of the political and security situation in Palestine and how to make an effect in the region, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid.

Abu Zaid added that the talk with the U.S. delegation covered factors and limitations that the negotiations should depend on. He also stressed the importance of setting time frames to settle the dispute, expressing that the whole region aspires to spread peace.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed on the importance of continuous consultation and coordination between Egypt and the U.S. in many fields in the next phase.
