CAIRO – 11 August 2017: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reviewed issues that of interest toEgypt in case Qatar kept adopting its negative role of supporting terrorism, inciting violence, and interfering in Arab countries’ internal affairs, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu-Zeid said on Thursday.

During his meeting with the United States' envoys in the Qatar crisis, general Anthony Zinni and deputy assistant secretary of state for Arabian Gulf Affairs Timothy Lenderking, Shoukry was informed of the results of an earlier meeting between the two US officials, earlier, with Gulf countries officials, Abu Zeid added.

Shoukry stressed the consistency of the Arab quartet countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, UAE, on Qatar’s implementation of the 13 demand list.

Shoukry noted that the four Arab countries had expressed their readiness to contact Qatar on a condition that it implements the demands and combats terrorism.

For their parts, the US officials expressed their hope that the Gulf-Qatar crisis get solved very soon, emphasizing that the US supports Kuwaiti mediation role in contacting all parties.

The meeting is a part of the two U.S. officials’ tour in a number of countries in the region to discuss the latest developments of the crisis and find solutions.
