CAIRO - 25 July 2017: Al-Azhar's Supreme Council of Scholars headed by Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayeb started an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss violations made against Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The meeting was called by Tayeb on Sunday to review continual violations made by Israeli forces against Al-Aqsa Mosque, city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif and Palestinian people.
Following the meeting, the council will release a statement on its legal position regarding the violations and ways to deal with the attempts to Judaize Jerusalem.

on July 14, Israeli forces prevented Muslims from performing Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, after Palestinian young man stabbed three Israelis to death in the Halamish settlement after he infiltrated into their home. He was caught and shot.

During the past days, Israeli forces also renewed clashes with the Palestinians, who rejected Israel's recent security measures that involve the installation of metal detectors and CCTV cameras at the entrances to Al-Aqsa compound.
