CAIRO - 27 May 2023: Egypt is completely free of cases of polio, said Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs, Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, o Saturday.

In comments to “Good Morning Egypt,” talk show, Taj El-Din said that the state is still vaccinating children, whether Egyptians or those coming from abroad.

He added that vaccination is available in health offices or through mobile medical teams, for children aged between one day to 5 years, and for non-Egyptian children who aged between one day to 15 years.

Egypt has launched numerous polio vaccination campaigns to inclue Egyptian and non-Egyptian children with the aim of keeping the country free from the disease.

Egypt has not recorded any polio case since 2004, according to officials. In 2006, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that Egypt is completely polio-free.
