CAIRO – 28 November 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will participate in the Indian Republic Day celebrations due on January 26 as a chief guest, announced the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Monday evening.

The participation came at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation, the statement added.

“The invitation reflects the mutual appreciation between the two countries at the level of leadership, and both sides’ interest in advancing relations between them,” the statement read.

Egypt and India celebrate this year the 75th anniversary of the inauguration of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the statement added, noting that India also invited Egypt to participate as a guest country during India's presidency of the G20 in the year 2022-2023.
