CAIRO - 28 November 2022: Egypt will finalize and deliver the first group of green housing units to citizens by the end of the year 2023, said Engineer Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing Fund.

Abdel Hamid added that African countries are keen to learn about the Egyptian experience in the field of housing.

Engineer Mai Abdel Hamid also said the 38th annual conference of the African Union for Housing Finance will open Tuesday, entitled “A Green Urban Future for Affordable Housing”.

The conference will be hosted and organized in its current session by the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Finance Support in partnership with the African Union for Finance. Housing, noting that we benefit from conferences to exchange ideas and help African countries.

She further pointed out that green housing is social housing apartments built with green housing from solar energy, a gray water system, re-processed and used in irrigation.

The building of the green housing units also relied on specific bricks, so that whoever resides in them feels that the unit does not have extreme heat or extreme cold, which makes them feel psychologically comfortable, as well as all the waste produced from it is recycled.
