Egypt’s police hospitals to provide free medical services to women, starting Nov. 25

CAIRO – 21 November 2022:  Egypt’s Interior Ministry announced, Monday opening police affiliated hospitals nationwide for free medical examinations to all women during the period from November 25 to December 1, on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Violence against Women.

The Ministry explained that the free medical services will be provided in the evening shifts from 5 to 8 PM. All necessary treatment will be provided for women free of charge.

The Ministry of the Interior pays special attention to the “human security” file by directing medical convoys to treat citizens in villages in all governorates and dispensing medicines for them free of charge, in addition to directing missions to issue national ID cards for citizens in their homes, especially the elderly, people with special needs and the sick.

The Ministry also announced the “We are all one” initiative which aim to providing food commodities to citizens at affordable prices in ‘Aman’ outlets and through moving cars.

The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The premise of the day is to raise awareness around the world that women are subjected to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence; furthermore, one of the aims of the day is to highlight that the scale and true nature of the issue is often hidden
