CAIRO – 9 November 2022: Member of the House of Representatives Eman El Alfy, who is also the widow of Armed Forces Martyr Adel Abdel Hamid Eid Hassan, posted a video on Facebook Wednesday criticizing the international community's double standards in terms of dealing with the lawsuit of Alaa Abdel Fatah.

El Alfy addressed Sanaa Seif saying that her defense of her brother is illegitimate because he was inciting the assassination of police and army officers, "who are husbands, brothers, and children to many families."

"He (Alaa Abdel Fatah) even demanded the torture of the mothers and children of officers. The children of those officers have a right. Many of those kids did not get the chance to see them," the widow said, describing Alaa Abdel Fatah as a criminal.

El Alfy addressed the international community saying, "You have not experienced our agony. You did not wake up to a question by a child who wonders how it feels to have a father. You did not experience visiting the tombs of your loved ones on religious occasions so you would feel you're still together."

Addressing Sanaa Seif again, the parliamentarian said, "Your brother is imprisoned but he can see you, and he can see his children growing up. As for the international community, we're accepting of the rulings of the Egyptian judiciary. We accepted the prison sentence, although he deserved more."

"Our cause is not trivial. We deserve as much attention as Sanaa. We are 3,000 families whose loved ones where made martyrs, and our number is on the rise. We also want our rights," El Alfy said concluding the video.
