CAIRO - 8 November 2022: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Egypt is keen to boost relations with Pakistan in different fields, with a view to achieving mutual interests and advancing development plans in both countries.

Shoukry's remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.

The spokesman added the two top diplomats agreed to convene the joint higher committee in Pakistan in 2023.

On his part, Zardari said Pakistan's participation in the COP27 at the highest level shows that it pays great attention to the global climate summit, especially as the South Asian country had recently been hit by destructive floods.

The Pakistani foreign minister voiced hope that the conference will yield the desired results that could enhance international climate action on the various levels.
