CAIRO – 2 November 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met in Algeria on the sidelines of the 31st Arab Summit running on November 1-2 with Iraqi counterpart Abdel Latif Rashid.

 

The president expressed aspiration to expand political, economic, and trade relations with Iraq, asserting Egypt's fundamental values regarding the fellow Arab state.

 

Those evolve around backing the unity and territorial integrity of Iraq, which would achieve the stability and security necessary to prevent the revival of terrorist organizations.

 

In turn, the Iraqi president stressed his country's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Egypt, commending the country's role in concerting Arab efforts in the face of challenges. Hence, the two presidents exchanged views on a number of regional matters of joint interest and agreed on holding future consultations.

 

President Rashid also described Egypt as exemplary in maintaining internal peace and stability, as well as accomplishing a developmental, economic, and social renaissance.
