Health Ministry urges citizens to receive seasonal flu, COVID vaccines ahead of winter season

CAIRO - 27 October 2022: As the winter season approaches, the Egyptian Ministry of Health called on citizens to receive seasonal flu vaccines and anti-COVID vaccines, in order to reduce infection rates and prevent complications.
 
Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona at the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that Egypt succeeded in controlling Corona and providing the latest treatment protocols, with a success rate of 98%, indicating that many drugs aimed at raising immunity were provided.
 
Hosni also highlighted the decline in the rates of infections and their severity, as the mild and medium cases recorded reached 85%. 
 
He stressed that all the medicines for the treatment protocol for Corona are available in hospitals, noting that all hospitals provide services to citizens free of charge.
 
He said that the Corona vaccine is safe and is the best way to protect against corona infection, noting that it reduces complications in the event of infection, and the Ministry of Health advised children in schools to get the vaccine while abide by full precautionary measures to prevent infection and ensure a safe study.
