Rain expected in various areas across Egypt next week: EMA

CAIRO – 21 October 2022: Rain is expected to hit various areas across Egypt during the coming three days, according to weather forecast posted by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) on Friday.

The EMA expects mild to moderate rain in northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt on Saturday with rain expected to turn into thunderstorm in Matrouh desert in northern Egypt.

Also, mild rain is expected in southern Lower Egypt on Saturday and can extend to Greater Cairo during nighttime, the EMA noted.

On Sunday, moderate rain is expected in the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and Suez Canal cities, the EMA said, warning that it can turn into thunderstorm.

On the same day, southern Lower Egypt and North Sinai are expected to see possible mild to moderate rain that can turn into thunderstorm.

On Monday, mild to moderate rain is expected in the norther coasts and northern Lower Egypt. Also, mild rain is expected in southern Lower Egypt, Suez Canal cities, the Gulf of Suez and Sinai.

The EMA expects windy weather in South Sinai on Saturday,

Average temperatures based on the EMA expectations:

- Cairo and Lower Egypt – Highs: 27 - Lows: 19

- Northern coasts – Highs: 25 – Lows: 19

- South Sinai – Highs: 29 – Lows: 21

- Northern Upper Egypt – Highs: 28 – Lows: 18

- Southern Upper Egypt – Highs: 32 – Lows: 21
