CAIRO - 20 October 2022:  A new batch of 35 pre-trail prisoners would be released on Thursday as per a presidential pardon, announced  Lawmaker Tariq Al-Khouly, the member of the Presidential Pardon Committee.

  

The Presidential Pardon Committee thanked the Presidency, the Attorney General and the Ministry of Interior for the decisions to release those are being held in pretrial detention pending cases of freedom of opinion.

 

Laywer Amr Nohan was one of those who released recently as per a presidential pardon.

 

The presidential committee overseeing the file of pardoned inmates is working to reintegrate released prisoners into society by creating jobs for them.

 

Measures are taken for some of the pardoned inmates to restore their previous jobs, the committee said Monday.

 

It added that it is coordinating with bodies concerned to solve some procedural matters regarding travel bans and sequestration of funds.
