CAIRO – 18 October 2022: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa held a meeting Tuesday with Palestinian Chief Justice and Presidential advisor for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al Habbash.

The meeting tackled the ministry's efforts to spread moderate teachings of Islam and combat extremist thought.

Habbash thanked the Egyptian state for its efforts in supporting the Palestinian people.

On October 6, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised Egypt’s remarkable achievements and regional and international role, especially for the Palestinian cause, the Egyptian state-owned news agency MENA reported.

Abbas’ comments were voiced in a cable of congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the forty-ninth anniversary of the victories of the Sixth of October War.

Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF) Wasel Abu Yousef said Egypt spares no effort to support the Palestinian cause at all levels.

Abu Yousef told MENA that the Palestinian leadership is appreciating efforts exerted by Egypt to back the Palestinian issue at the political and diplomatic levels regionally and internationally.

He added the Palestinians are confident in Egypt's constant backing of the Palestinian cause to obtain their legitimate rights.

The Palestinian leadership is paying tribute to Egypt's pivotal role as regards the Palestinian-Palestinian reconciliation and its efforts to close Palestinian rank, said Abu Yousef
