Sisi meets with Siemens’ chairman to discuss green energy projects

CAIRO - 16 October 2022: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Sunday Joe Kaiser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens, to discuss cooperation in green energy projects as Egypt endeavors to become a regional center for the production and exchange of new and renewable energy.

 

Sisi admired Siemens’ achievements in development projects establishing power plants in Egypt, emphasizing his looking forward to more cooperation in new and renewable energy, electrical interconnection projects, and training and professional qualification of Egyptian cadres in a manner that consolidates German standards of high performance and immaculate level of production.

 

For his part, Joe Kaiser praised Egypt’s cooperation with Siemens, most notably the three modern Siemens power plants, which have become the backbone of the Egyptian power grid. Siemens considers them one of the the prominent icons in the history of the company's activity since its inception, Kaiser said.

 

Kaiser said Siemens shares the aspiration to develop the existing partnership with Egypt, especially in the fields of new and renewable energy, especially with the tangible achievements made in Egypt in the area of infrastructure.

 

Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy, and Engineer Laila El Haris, Managing Director of Siemens Energy in Egypt attended the meeting.
