CAIRO - 4 October 2022: Egypt's investment plan into the communications and information technology sector during the fiscal year 2022/2023 aims to raise the efficiency of the use of the Internet and connectivity networks for the state’s administrative apparatus at a value of one billion pounds, according to a government report by the Ministry of Planning.
 
The communications and information technology sector plays a vital role in promoting the components of sustainable development, including the means of knowledge and modern information that motivate and guide investment, production and employment decisions.
 
The plan for the year 22/23 aims to direct investments amounting to 67.1 billion pounds into the communications and information technology sector, compared to 58.2 billion pounds investments by the end of the previous year, with a growth rate of 15%, noting that the percentage of sector investments to the total investments of the plan is within 5%.
 
The most important trends in the telecommunications sector during the new fiscal year 2013/2022 are: to continue implementing the digital transformation program and eliminating the digital divide, intensifying efforts directed at achieving financial inclusion, adopting programs related to artificial intelligence, expanding applications and innovations for information technology, in addition to outsourcing system to develop service exports, deploying advanced Internet services, such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and Big Data, while developing the information infrastructure.
