According to an emigration ministry statement Tuesday, Ahmed Hussein Abdel Fattah, was admitted four days ago to the Egyptian Coptic Hospital in Kenya to complete his medical treatment ahead of returning to Egypt.

The minister lauded efforts of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Kenya, Anba Boulos, Coptic Bishop of Kenya and Egyptian doctors working in the African country for helping in the Egyptian youth medical treatment in Nairobi at their expense till his condition became stable to be able to travel to Egypt, it added.

Gendi further hailed concerted efforts on the part of the Egyptian communities in Mozambique and Kenya, as well as continued consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State for Emigration and Expatriates' Affairs to save the life of the Egyptian youth, the statement read.

Abdel Fattah and his friends have made a distress call on social media websites appealing for help, after his health deteriorated following six surgeries that he had undergone.
