FM affirms Egypt’s support for Lebanon

CAIRO – 23 September 2022: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Shoukry expressed Egypt's constant keenness to support Lebanon's stability, discussing the current Lebanese developments, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement.

Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of completing the constitutional obligations to achieve stability in Lebanon, Abu Zeid added.

Mikati said that he is looking forward to Egypt's continued support for his country at the regional and international levels, the spokesperson said.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation during the next stage, Abu Zeid said.
