Sisi directs setting an integrated strategy for developing nursing sector

CAIRO – 21 September 2022: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed to reach a comprehensive strategy for developing the nursing sector and training healthcare cadres.

Sisi said that this strategy falls within the framework of state efforts to upgrade the healthcare sector.

Sisi made the remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with his adviser for health affairs Mohamed Tag Eddin, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

The meeting took up progress in implementing a number of initiatives in the health and medical care sector, with the president directing to introduce an integrated strategy to develop the nursing sector and support and train healthcare providers, the presidential spokesman said.

The president was briefed on the global epidemiological map and its impact on the situation in Egypt, national preventive plans to limit the entry of transmissible diseases into the country, and the strategy for dealing with any epidemic and providing patients suffering from any infectious diseases with the care and treatment they need, he added.

With regard to the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus nationwide, Tag Eddin pointed to the noticeable and continuing decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases, and that most of the diagnosed cases suffer from simple symptoms without any mentionable complications.

The president directed to continue preventive public awareness programs and vaccination campaigns for citizens through vaccination centers that are found in all parts of the country, while facilitating access to booster doses and strengthening the national vaccine manufacturing system.

The presidential adviser reviewed efforts to develop the organ transplant system in Egypt, as well as the development of the drug system to ensure the provision of all essential medicines in medical institutions and health facilities nationwide.
