Egypt’s Interior Ministry seizes a total of LE 11M worth drug shipments in South Sinai

CAIRO – 16 September 2022: Egypt’s Public Security Sector, the General Department for Drug Control, along with the unlicensed Weapons and Ammunition, Department succeeded to eliminate several drug dealers.

According to the interior Ministry, the forces made several pre-emptive strikes near Sharm El Sheikh, El-Tur, Abu Ordis, Ras Sidr, Dahab, Nuweiba in south Sinai.

The total coast of the seized narcotic substances is estimated at about LE 11,260.000 million.

 All legal measures were taken.

On Thursday, The General Administration for Drug Control and the General Administration for Unlicensed Weapons and Ammunition said that they have monitored the activity of “several criminal elements” who specialized in trafficking narcotics in large quantities and selling it using their place of residence.

According to Egypt’s Interior Ministry, the accused have been spotted and arrested at their residences and in their possession huge amounts of cannabis, hydro drug, Captagon narcotic tablets long with unlicensed guns and weapons.

The total amount of narcotics seized was (a quantity of cannabis that weighed 87 kilograms - a quantity of hydroxy drug that weighed 10 kilograms - a quantity of heroin that weighed 4 kilograms - 9000 tablets of Captagon drug - a quantity of banjo that weighed 25 kilograms).

The total coast of all seized narcotic drugs is approximately LE 7,015,000.
