CAIRO – 13 September 2022: Qatari Ambassador to Egypt Salem Mubarak Al Shafi has asserted the importance of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Doha, commending the distinguished level reached by Cairo-Doha relations in different domains.

Shafi said this is Sisi’s first visit to Doha, adding that it is important at the Arab,
regional and international levels.

He pointed out that there are several bilateral, Arab and international files that will be covered by talks between President Sisi and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Shafi reviewed the increasing progress in the Qatari-Egyptian relations and the exchange of high-level visits between both countries.

He pointed out to the Qatari emir's visit to Egypt in June and his summit talks with Sisi, during which both leaders focused on means of boosting bilateral cooperation in different areas in addition to other regional and international files of common interest.

Shafi shed light on the progress witnessed in Egypt-Qatar relations since he assumed his post.

Egypt's President Sisi is heading to Qatar’s capital, Doha, in a two-day visit for the first time as per the invitation of Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Presidency announced on Tuesday.

President Sisi's visit to Doha comes as a “culmination of the intensive mutual discussions between the two brotherly countries during the recent period to strengthen the frameworks of joint bilateral cooperation at all levels,” the Presidency explained in a statement.
