No shortage in ‘strategic goods’ in the Egyptian markets: official

CAIRO- 2 September 2022: Director of the Supply Directorate in Alexandria, Mohamed Saadallah, said that Egypt is not suffering of any shortage in the ‘strategic goods’ in the markets, noting that the stock of goods exceeds up to 6 months.

He added in televised statements that, starting of September, 5 new items have been added to the markets including cans of tuna, jam, packaged flour and tahini.

The director of the Supply Directorate in Alexandria added that the existing commodities are sugar, oil, rice and pasta, which are the basic commodities of interest to the citizen, in addition to another 25 basic commodities available in all of the supply outlets, allowing citizens to choose from many different commodities.
