Presidential assistant participates in graduation ceremony of S. Sudan's unified forces

CAIRO – 31 August 2022: President's Assistant for Defense Affairs, Sedki Sobhi has participated in the graduation ceremony of South Sudan’s unified forces, held in the presence of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, vice presidents, and senior state officials.

Representing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the event, Sobhi conveyed the Egyptian leader’s greetings and congratulations to South Sudan’s leadership and people on such a historic moment that embodies the country’s commitment to implementing one of the most significant entitlements of the revitalized peace agreement, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

Sobhi affirmed Egypt's firm determination to work with “brothers in South Sudan” in order to strengthen various aspects of the existing partnership between both countries in all fields.

Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan Moataz Mostafa Abdel Qader, the embassy staffers and Egypt’s defense attaché attended the event.

Head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, as well as the defense ministers of Rwanda and Ethiopia also took part in the graduation ceremony
