CAIRO – 30 August 2022: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El Din Mostafa appointed Tuesday Dina Abdel Moneim, initially electrical engineer, chairwoman of Shubra Company for Engineering Industries, also known as Military Factory 27.

Abdel Moneim began her career as maintenance engineer at companies affiliated to the ministry in 1998. She rose through the ranks until she became assistant to the minister for development and follow-up.

Abdel Moneim earned a certificate in international business from the University of Missouri, and graduated the Leadership for Government Excellence programme, which is delivered jointly by the Ministry of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform, the American University in Cairo, and King's College.

Shubra Company for Engineering Industries was founded in 1954, producing the first fully Egyptian-made bullet, which was a 9mm one, on October 23, 1954, which now marks the country's Military Production Day. However, the factory now also produces some civilian products such as machinery and drilling equipment.
