CAIRO - 28 CAIRO 2022: Residents of eastern Cairo complained about a lingering bad smell.

Mostafa Mohamed Murad, head of the Central Department of Air Quality at the Ministry of Environment, told Masrawy that the ministry is still continuing its efforts to inspect industrial facilities in the East Cairo region due to complaints it received from citizens about the emission of unpleasant odors.

He added that the Ministry has formed a committee to pinpoint the sources of these bad odors, noting that the committee team found violations committed by some companies, which caused the spread of these odors.

Murad confirmed that the rates of odors in the area decreased very significantly after taking the necessary measures.
