CAIRO – 11 August 2022: Advisor to the President for health affairs, Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din said, Thursday that COVID-19 expected to become more like a flu by the end of 2022, which remains with us, but does not cause complications, and easily controlled.

He added in statements at the Palmo Gut conference that It is necessary to follow precautionary measures as long as the virus is still spreading in the world in large numbers.

He noted that COVID cases in Egypt range from ‘simple to moderate’, stressing that the severe cases are very few.

As many as 587,596,081 people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) globally, Johns Hopkins University (JHU) reported on Thursday.

It added that about 6,427,726 have died from the virus worldwide.

The US continues to be the worst-hit country in terms of fatalities, followed by Brazil and India
