CAIRO - 10 August 2022: In line with the government's sustainable development goals, the Ministry of Electricity has installed solar panels on rooftops of its affiliated buildings to rely on renewable energy.

Hamza explained that the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company took measures several years ago to reduce dependence on natural gas in generating electricity, explaining that the maintenance and development operations that took place at the electricity production and generation plants.

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed in his statements that the goal of the state's current move is how to provide the largest amount of natural gas consumption directed to electricity production plants, to export it and obtain hard currency, which contributes to reducing pressure on the Egyptian state.

He also pointed out that the application of summer time was clearly and strongly considered, with regard to public shops and malls, so that they close at 11 pm, adding that there will be a directive for commercial malls that include central air conditioning, so that they are set at a temperature of 25 or more, and not less, which will contribute to saving more electricity and rationalizing the consumption of gas needed for its production.
