CAIRO – 9 August 2022: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Adil Tursunov, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations as well as issues of common interest, said Egyptian Foregn Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez on Monday.

 

Minister Shoukry expressed during the meeting Egypt's pride in the friendship relationship that it shares with Kazakhstan, amid celebrating, in this year, the thirty-year anniversary of the inauguration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

 

They also discussed the importance of advancing cooperation relations between Egypt and Kazakhstan in various fields, in light of following up on the phone call that took place between the presidents of the two countries in February 2022, Hafez said.

 

Minister Shoukry also expressed his appreciation for Kazakhstan's role in inaugurating the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA), which aims to form a new formula to enhance confidence and ensure security and stability in Asia, and to cooperate in the areas of combating terrorism and illicit drug trafficking, and enhancing cooperation, economic cooperation among Member States, and to limit the proliferation and complete disarmament of weapons of mass destruction.
