CAIRO – 8 August 2022: Egyptian Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik affirmed on Monday the ministry’s commitment to provide all support to the Palestinian police in the face of challenges as part of the Egyptian government’s supportive stance of the state and stability in the Palestinian state.

In a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, Ziad Hab Al-Reeh, Tawfik welcomed enhancing and developing the security cooperation relations with the Palestinian side.

Tawfik affirmed the Egyptian ministry’s readiness to receive the Palestinian police cadres to rehabilitate them in the fields of the police work within the framework of the ministry’s permanent keenness to extend bridges of communication and exchange expertise with the Arab security apparatuses.

For his part, Hab Al-Reeh hailed Egypt’s weight on the regional and international levels and the continued Egyptian efforts in support of the Palestinian authority in various fields.

He also affirmed the Palestinian ministry’s keenness to enhance security cooperation frameworks with the Egyptian security apparatuses, especially in the field of training.

On Sunday, an Egypt-brokered ceasefire has ended three days of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Palestinian rocket attacks launched against Israeli cities in response. The Israeli strikes killed more than 40 Palestinians, including children.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has welcomed tremendous efforts made by Egypt that led to stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip.

According to WAFA news agency, Abbas hailed on Sunday President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's ongoing stances that support the Palestinians.

He noted that these efforts contribute to easing the tensions and relieving the suffering of the Palestinian people.
