Egyptian president receives UAE Minister of Industry, Advanced Technology

CAIRO – 6 July 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Tuesday UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan al-Gaber to discuss bolstering cooperation in the sectors of information technology, energy, and telecommunications.

 

The meeting was attended by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, Chief of the General Intelligence Directorate Abbas Kamel, and, Head of Abu Dhabi Executive Office Khaldoun al-Mubarak.

 

President Sisi asked the minister to deliver his greetings to UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed al-Nahyan, welcoming Emirati investments in Egypt. The president added that Egypt looks forward to support that would enable both countries fulfill their interests.

 

In turn, Minister Gaber commended the investment climate in Egypt, which offers various outstanding opportunities on the Middle Eastern and African levels. The minister also expressed his country's eagerness for reinforcing the frameworks of strategic cooperation between both states on all scales.

 

President Sisi had received late in June Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conferring over increasing Emirati investments in the sectors of energy, transport, ports and tourism.

 

The latest regional developments and issues of common concern were also tackled during the talks. President El-Sisi stressed the importance and vitality of the role played by the UAE and its leadership in countering the challenges facing the Arab nation.

 

The UAE Foreign Minister, for his part, lauded Egypt's central role in the region as a cornerstone for the security and stability of the Arab world. The minister also praised Egypt's keenness on strengthening solidarity among the countries and on advancing joint Arab action.
