Commercial International Bank Foundation allocates LE 21M to support Egyptian Clothing Bank

CAIRO - 27 June 2022: In continuation of the fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian Clothing Bank Corporation and the Commercial International Bank Foundation (CIB Foundation) in supporting the children of the most needy families in the various governorates of Egypt, based on the institutional vision of the CIB, and its belief in the concept and value of social responsibility in supporting the local community, and in line with the direction of the CIB Foundation, which mainly aims to contribute to the development of society and the advancement of the Egyptian child. A cooperation protocol was signed between the two institutions to complement the permanent cooperation between them during the previous years.

The Egyptian Clothing Bank was established in 2012 with the vision of providing clothing to every unable Egyptian in order to develop those who have the right to obtain appropriate clothing for positive interaction in society. The Egyptian Clothing Bank Corporation is one of the leading institutions specialized in the field of clothing through diversity and innovation to find effective programs in addressing problems related to clothing on an ongoing basis within an institutional framework in cooperation with all those concerned with the matter of providing clothing on the land of Egypt, in addition to being a leading institution in achieving sustainable development goals through several factors; the most important of which is the application of a comprehensive system of recycling by converting unusable clothes to other suitable clothes, in implementation of the policy of not wasting through reusing and exploiting the waste and converting it to other new products.

 

The Commercial International Bank Foundation has expressed its desire to continue participating in the project, which is approved by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, this year also under the name of the “Warmer Winter” project as part of its social responsibility and to encourage voluntary public work. That’s why; it granted the Egyptian Clothing Bank Foundation an amount of EGP 21 million, to provide winter clothes and shoes for 100 thousand orphans and children of the most-needy families in the governorates of (Red Sea - New Valley - Minya - Beni Suef - Fayoum - Cairo - Giza). Moreover, the grant covers relief convoys which are launched due to weather conditions or natural disasters, by providing 100,000 sets of winter clothes and shoes. It has been taken into account in the production of these sets that they are high-quality Egyptian products that are manufactured with Egyptian environmentally friendly materials in small and medium factories.

It is worth mentioning that this program is being applied within the framework of the latest scientific methods for measuring the developmental effects to provide the basic needs of clothing, in order to achieve the desired results of improving the health of the beneficiary children, their school attendance and positive interaction, and the consequent impact on raising the efficiency of their lives.
