CAIRO – 10 June 2022: celebrating the World Environment Day which fall on June 5, Egypt’s Ministry of Environment, the Migratory Soaring Birds Project in Egypt and the Environment Without Borders organized a celebrative event in the Wadi Degla Reserve, Maadi, southern Cairo to raise awareness about the migratory birds and the government’s efforts in this field.

The celebration of the World Environment Day comes under the slogan “Only one Earth,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The Soaring Birds Project is funded by Global Environment Facility and implemented by the Environmental Affairs Agency in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program and Bird Life International, the statement added.

“The celebration aims to present examples of national efforts and ideas of school students that contribute to protecting the environment, living in harmony with nature and achieving the principles of sustainability in our daily lives,” said Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad in the statement.

She added that the celebration is a continuation of the ministry's efforts to open new and non-traditional channels of communication with the community to support environmental work.
