Head of Journalists Syndicate appointed general coordinator of Egypt’s national dialogue, sessions to start July

CAIRO – 8 June2022: The national dialogue administration has selected head of Egypt's Journalists Syndicate Diaa Rashwan as General Coordinator of a national political dialogue scheduled to kick off early next month.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Media Regulation (SCMR) Mahmoud Fawzy was appointed as chair of the national dialogue's technical secretariat, the administration revealed in a statement Wednesday.

The administration explained that the general coordinator will be responsible for starting consultations with political parties and all other participants in the national dialogue to form board of trustees that will include 15 members representing all parties, public figures, and experts to ensure their effective participation.

The administration added that all needed logistics and supplies had already been completed by the National Training Academy, which is in charge of organizing the National Youth Conference.

In implementation of President Sisi’s mandates regarding holding a national dialogue, the National Training Academy issued a statement explaining the executive features of the national dialogue among all segments of society.

Egypt’s National Training Academy confirmed that it will manage the national dialogue with complete impartiality and impartiality, provided that its role is to coordinate between the different groups participating in the dialogue without interfering.

The National Training Academy said that it will adopt the principle of expanding the base of participation in dialogue by inviting all representatives of Egyptian society from all categories and institutions

The statement added that diversity will be taken into account in the dialogue sessions to include most regions of the Republic and that registration will be opened on the website of the National Youth Conference for those who wish to participate in the national dialogue

It was added that a joint impartial committee will be formed, and will be tasked with compiling the outcomes of the national dialogue in a unified preliminary document that will be submitted to the Egyptian President.

During the Egyption Family Iftar on April 26, President Sisi directed the National Youth Conference management, in coordination with all political parties and youth currents, to conduct a political dialogue on the priorities of national actions during the current stage.
