CAIRO – 24 May 2022: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar discussed on Tuesday cooperation between the two sides as part of preparations for the UN Climate Conference (COP27), due to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November.

Talks covered the possibility of using green transportation means such as electric buses inside Egypt's airports to carry the participants in the conference.

Morsi said the Ministry of Military Production has exerted great efforts over the past few years in cooperation with the private sector to manufacture the e-buses, adding that such initiative was made upon directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who urged adopting a national strategy to localize the e-vehicles industry in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Manar praised the role of the political leadership and government along with all state bodies to support the aviation sector and encourage investments, adding that the ministry is working hard to encourage the expansion in the use of electric buses in view of its good role on reducing the harmful gas emissions.
