EU ambassadors support Egypt against terrorism

CAIRO – 11 May 2022: Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt Christian Berger and some EU ambassadors to Egypt reiterated on Wednesday their support to Egypt in its war against terrorism.

This came during a press conference, held by Berger, along with French, German, Spanish, Romanian, Belgian ambassadors, at the French consulate in Alexandria, to celebrate the Europe month.

EU supports Egypt in fighting terrorism, Berger said, citing the EU statement condemning the terror attack that took place on Saturday.

He added that both the EU and Egypt will chair a conference on fighting terrorism in coming period.

Belgian Ambassador in Cairo François Cornet d'Elzius lauded Egypt's efforts to achieve development in Sinai while the Spanish ambassador said cooperation with Egypt against terrorism is going on.

Berger stressed that Egypt is a main partner to the EU, lauding relations binding the two sides for 45 years now.
