Wave of hot weather hits Egypt for 72 hours

CAIRO – 6 May 2022: Egypt expected to witness a wave of hot weather and gradual rise in temperatures throughout the country, will last for the next 72 hours according to the Meteorological Authority, Friday.

During the next 72 hours, the fog will cover high roads in Greater Cairo, Upper Egypt, the northern coasts and the Canal cities.

Egypt is currently witnessing unstable weather, as some governorates have been reported to witness light rain along with active winds during the past days. Sand and dust covered southern Upper Egypt at intermittent periods.

The wave height in The Mediterranean and Red Sea reached 2.5 meters.

During Eid al-Fitr, Egypt has witnessed hot weather during daytime, with a tendency to be cold at night.
